Important Do’s When Visiting Pench
-
Pench National Park is a popular spot, and booking your safari in advance is highly important so that you don’t have to face any disappointments in the future. Safari slots get sold out easily, so it’s always recommended to make your Pench Safari Booking in advance. This ensures you get the preferred zone and time slot without any issues.
-
You must carry the same ID proof used during booking (like Aadhaar, PAN card, or passport). This ID is checked at the entry gate. If you come to park without the ID, then entry can be denied by the officials. Do come with a printed copy of your ID proofs.
-
Arrive at the safari gate at least 30 to 45 minutes before your slot. This gives you time for vehicle allocation, guide verification, and gate formalities. Morning safaris start early, so punctuality is important so that you can enter the park on time and explore it without hurry.
-
Whenever you go inside the park, do follow what your guide says and listen to them carefully. The guides are trained by the forest department, and they understand animal behaviour. Going inside with the guide ensures your safety, and you’ll get an informative safari experience.
-
You’re allowed to click pictures inside the park, but kindly keep your flash off as it can disturb the animals. Also, keep your camera in silent mode so you can enjoy a peaceful experience and listen to real jungle sounds.
-
Staying inside your safari is important, as it is dangerous to get out of the safari. You can come down of the safari at the rest stops and at designated points, if your guide says so.
-
Following the timings of the safari is highly important, so make sure to reach the gate on time. Morning safaris generally start around sunrise, and evening ones end before sunset. Respect the time limits and don’t ask the driver to stay longer in the forest.
-
Bringing essentials during the safari can be helpful, like a water bottle, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, etc. These essentials can make your safari experience better and protect you from harm.
Important Don’ts When Visiting Pench
-
Don’t come out of the safari vehicle during the ride, even for quick photos or toilet breaks. You can get out of the vehicle at the authorised stops, but not just anywhere. Wild animals can come to the spots suddenly, and it’s dangerous to get out of your vehicle.
-
Please don’t throw the waste inside the boundaries of the park. If you have waste like plastic bottles, tissues, or other things, then keep them inside a waste bag and throw it when you go outside in a dustbin.
-
Feeding animals or trying to get their attention is strictly prohibited. It changes their natural behavior and can make them aggressive or dependent on humans. Never clap, shout, or make noises to attract animals. It can be dangerous and is also disrespectful.
-
Don’t smoke inside the forest or light a fire. Smoking or lighting a fire is strictly banned and is a punishable offence. The trees can catch fire very easily, and massive damage can happen inside the park. So, to avoid that, even throwing a cigarette or lighting it is a punishable offence. Please be very careful and follow the no-smoking rule strictly.
-
Don’t drink alcohol during the safaris. Even entering the park after drinking alcohol is not safe. Drunk or loud behavior inside the park can lead to accidents and strict action from the forest authorities.
-
Don’t expect guaranteed tiger sightings inside the forest because many people feel disappointed if they don’t spot a tiger. But remember, the forest is more than just tigers. There’s so much to see, including the birds, trees, insects, and many other animals. Enjoy the full jungle experience and don’t treat the safari like a zoo ride.
-
Don’t distract the driver or give directions to them. They know the park better than you, and forcing your guide/driver to go off the path to chase animals is not safe. They are trained to follow rules and know what’s best.
-
Don’t use flash or any additional light during the photography. These can scare the animals and birds and even disturb them during the safari. Always turn off your camera flash before clicking photos. Also, avoid making loud shutter sounds or changing lenses noisily.
